Gabby Agbonlahor has hailed Tyrone Mings’ “great character” after his display for Aston Villa in their 3-1 win over Fulham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer claimed the 28-year-old stand-in skipper put in the ultimate captain’s display at Villa Park after inspiring their comeback.
Mings was at fault for the visitors opening goal when Aleksandar Mitrovic pounced on his loose back pass to Emiliano Martinez.
However, the England international bounced back from his mistake by providing the assist for Trezeguet’s goal that sparked Villa into life.
They then scored twice more to record just their second win without talisman Jack Grealish who has been missing with injury since the middle of February.
“He would have been angry at the mistake,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley
