Aston Villa have beaten off competition from Premier League clubs to secure the signing of free agent Youri Tielemans.
Tielemans was one of seven players to be let go from the Foxes upon the expiration of his contract but he appears to have found a new club within a week.
The Athletic reports Tielemans is already undergoing a medical, with Villans boss Unai Emery acting fast to bolster his squad.
A Belgium regular, Tielemans was linked to a number of teams, including Arsenal and Tottenham, as well as more Champions League calibre sides.
However, Villa have won the race soon after it was reported that AC Milan had made the 26-year-old a priority.
The Birmingham side will return to continental football next season after a stunning turnaround from former Arsenal manager Emery secured seventh place in the Premier League and Europa Conference League football.
Meanwhile, Leicester ended their nine-year stay in the top flight with final day relegation, guaranteeing Tielemans’ departure.
Signed from Monaco in 2019, the midfielder became a regular for club and country, most famously scoring the winning goal in the FA Cup final against Chelsea in 2021.
He leaves the Foxes with 28 goals and 26 assists in 195 games in all competitions.
