Gabriel Agbonlahor sensationally compared Aston Villa star Jack Grealish to a prime Andres Iniesta.
talkSPORT’s newest pundit may be a little bit biased being a lifelong Villa fan and having played for the club for his entire career.
Grealish is undoubtedly talented but the comparison to the Barcelona legend raised a few eyebrows.
The midfielder, who also grew up supporting Aston Villa, committed his long-term future to the club when he signed a new contract on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old had been linked with Manchester United, and admitted it was a 50-50 decision whether to stay or go, before deciding to put pen to paper.
Agbonlahor was raving about the abilities of Grealish on talkSPORT’s Breakfast on Wednesday morning.
“I’ve played with some great players but for natural ability I’ve got to say Jack Grealish [is the best],” Agbonlahor said.
“I know that will upset a few players I’ve played with but for me I’ve seen nothing like him. Even in training.
“The quickest players, the best defenders, he will run past you like you’re not there.
“The amount of times I’ve tried to tackle him and in training I’ve played centre back for a bit of banter and can’t get anywhere near the boy. So I ended up kicking him and putting him on the floor. It’s just that natural talent he’s got.
“It’s the movement of the body and he’s gone. A little bit of acceleration when he’s running with the ball and he’s gone.
“He reminds me a bit of, I know it’s a big statement, (Andres) Iniesta in his prime. He’s just skipping past you and running past you. That’s Jack for you.”
talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara was having none of it and replied pretty quickly on social media.
He said: “Someone stop this man, Gabby you need a temperature check pal.”
