Gabriel Agbonlahor has insisted Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba still has a big role to play this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley, Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer delivered his verdict after the 26-year-old was linked with a move to Galatasaray.
Turkish outlet Dirilis Postasi report Gala are interested in signing Nakamba on loan in January after failing with a bid in the summer.
The Zimbabwe international has been limited to just 13 minutes of Premier League action this season.
John McGinn and Douglas Luiz have established themselves as Dean Smith’s midfield two but Agbonlahor has claimed he is next in line if they suffer an injury or pick up a suspension.
Asked by Football Insider whether it was time for the club in January to offload Nakamba, signed for £11million last year, Agbonlahor said: “I actually don’t, to be honest.
