Alan Hutton has claimed young Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey will have a big role to play in December starting with tomorrow’s clash against West Brom.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Villa full-back insisted the 19-year-old proved he can handle big pressure situations after his “assured” performance against Wolves last weekend.
Ramsey played the full 90 minutes in Villa’s 1-0 win at Molineux and was fouled by Joao Moutinho when the Portuguese was shown a second yellow card and sent off.
It was his eighth appearance for Dean Smith’s side but his first start in the top-flight and Hutton was blown away by his impact.
He told Football Insider: “Ramsey coming in against Wolves was the highlight, for me.
“Sometimes I think that’s a good thing, as daft as it sounds, when you’re told last minute on the Friday ‘right, tomorrow you’re playing.’ You don’t have that time to think about it and get that nervous about it.
