Aston Villa offer Jack Grealish bumper £100k-a-week new deal to snub £80m Man Utd transfer interest

JACK GREALISH is set to be offered a bumper pay rise to £100,000 a week to keep him out of the clutches of Manchester United.

Aston Villa are demanding at least £80million for their talismanic midfielder, who scored on the final day of the season to complete the club’s great escape from relegation.

Aston Villa are set to reward captain Jack Grealish with a bumper new contract

Billionaire owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens have no intention of losing their skipper this summer.

And tying Grealish, currently on £70,000 a week, to a lucrative new five-year contract will show they mean business.

Tyrone Mings and John McGinn will also be rewarded for impressive seasons with new deals.

Despite splashing out £140m on new players last season, Sawiris and Edens are ready to make around £100m available to add “three or four quality additions”.

That is a massive vote of confidence in manager Dean Smith, who led Villa to a Wembley final before defying the odds to claw back a seven-point deficit to relegation rivals Watford over their final four games.

Villa’s owners want to see Grealish flourish in a much more potent attack next season, with at least one top-class striker and a winger on the wish-list.

SunSport understands Villa inquired about Celtic’s £40m-rated French striker Odsonne Edouard, 22, but the Glasgow club are determined to keep him.

Smith is also keen to renew his interest in Brentford’s Said Benrahma.

Villa are set to beat Liverpool, Chelsea and Bayern Munich to sign Exeter’s 16-year-old England youth international Ben Chrisene.
