Grealish is currently on holiday with his girlfriend, but is set to report to pre-season training later this month.

The Mirror report that Grealish will discuss his future at Villa Park upon his return to the Midlands, and hopes that he will not be priced out of a lucrative summer transfer.

The boyhood Aston Villa fan has three years remaining on his current deal, which is believed to be worth approximately £65,000-a-week, and could see his wages upped to a six figure sum should he choose to stay at Villa Park.

The 24-year old was instrumental in keeping Aston Villa in the Premier League last season, scoring eight and assisting six as they finished 17th – one point ahead of Bournemouth.

As a result, Grealish has attracted the attention of some of the biggest clubs in the country, with Manchester United being heavily linked over the last few months.

However, United may have to be willing to cough up a huge sum for the Englishman should they make a move, after the Villans put an £80m price tag on his head to ward off potential buyers.

Due to the financial ramifications of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as their pursuit of other targets – it's hard to see where he slots into a starting 'front five' of Pogba, Fernandes, Martial, Rashford and Greenwood – it is possible that the Red Devils will consider his price tag too steep and look elsewhere.

Their chase for Grealish could also depend on the outcome of the long-running Jadon Sancho transfer saga. The 20-time English champions have been desperately chasing the 20-year old this window, and have reportedly agreed personal terms…only for Dortmund to put their collective foot down and refuse to sell this summer. Oops.
