Darren Bent has claimed that signing Josh King would be a “superb” move from Aston Villa.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Villa hitman argued that his old club have had an “A+” summer of recruitment, and could cap it off brilliantly with a swoop for the Bournemouth talent.
A recent report from The Telegraph suggested that Dean Smith’s men have launched a £16 million bid for the 48-cap Norway international, and are hoping to bring him in before the domestic transfer market shuts on October 16th.
And Bent believes that a late swoop for the 28-year-old would be the cherry on top of an eye-catching window for his former employers.
Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “It would be superb, because then you’re talking about Ollie Watkins, Josh King, Bertrand Traore – that’s a front three right there.
“They’re all proven so that would be brilliant.
