Deal Agreed: Forward makes up his mind after Leeds & Aston Villa offers – Exclusive

Samuel Iling Junior has rejected Leeds United and Aston Villa interest to agree a new long-term Juventus contract, sources have told Football Insider.

The future of the England youth forward, 19, has been up in the air with his current deal due to expire next summer.

But Juventus have been working on an extension for the wide attacker and have now struck an agreement.

Iling Junior has been the subject of enquiries from Leeds and Villa as well as interest from Man City and Southampton and multiple top European clubs.

The Chelsea academy product, who joined the Bianconeri in September 2020, has broken into the first-team plans of Max Allegri this season and made his Serie A and Champions League debuts.

Juventus have moved to offer him a new long-term contract and there has now been a breakthrough in talks.

Iling Junior made his senior debut for the Old Lady with a five-minute substitute cameo against Empoli in October.

He quickly followed that appearance up with outings against Lecce in Serie A and Benfica in the Champions League – grabbing an assist in both games to announce his arrival at the club.

A month earlier, the winger made his debut for England’s Under-20 side – playing a key role in friendlies against Chile, Morocco, and Australia.

However, Iling Junior suffered a bruised ankle shortly after his first-team breakthrough, leaving him on the sidelines heading into the mid-season World Cup break.

He has since returned to the squad and is poised to face Premier League leaders Arsenal in a friendly on Saturday (17 December).

Leeds United

The Bianconeri sit third in Serie A – some 10 points adrift of runaway leaders Napoli.

Their next competitive action comes against Cremonese on 4 January.
