Aston Villa are not facing an injury crisis despite the midfield trio of Jacob Ramsey, Douglas Luiz and John McGinn all struggling with injury.
That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.
Unai Emery is facing a selection headache ahead of the derby clash against Wolves on Wednesday night.

Both McGinn and Luiz were taken off during Villa’s latest 2-0 win over Tottenham this week, while Jacob Ramsey missed the game entirely after suffering a hamstring injury.
Emery joked that both McGinn and Luiz picked up their injuries “because they run a lot”, but the Villa boss may now be forced to field a makeshift midfield.
However, Dinnery has provided a positive update on the injuries and refused to label the situation at Villa Park a crisis.
“Itās not quite a crisis yet at Aston Villa.
“Theyāre always going to pick up injuries at some point, not only at this time of year considering the scheduling but weāre also coming off the break so itās that period of time where players are still adapting to the intensity of the Premier League.
“It doesn’t matter what clubs do behind closed doors they cannot replicate that matchday intensity in training.
“The McGinn injury is one that is concerning to Unai Emery considering, it’s a muscle injury that has a high reinjury rate.
“But Douglas Luiz canāt be ruled out of returning against Wolves. That ankle problem is part and parcel of the game, itās always important to contextualise injuries.
“The mechanisms need to be understood for these injuries and most of these setbacks are just part and parcel of the game.
“Theyāre like buses – a few come around at the same time, and even in the same position. Sometimes it does come down to luck and thankfully these injuries are looking more precautionary.“
