: Paul Robinson makes big Aston Villa transfer claim

Robinson revealed he had a similar decision to make during his time at Elland Road, where he rejected the chance to join David O’Leary’s Aston Villa in favour of staying at Leeds.

“They’ll find it difficult to replace him directly because there are not many of those players out there, hence the big boys want Jack Grealish,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“If they aren’t going to replace and the money is going back into the club, I have to say they spent a lot of money last summer, so the transfer budget might not be as big as Dean Smith wants it.

“I think Jack Grealish now has a big decision to make, similar to the one I had at Leeds to be honest.

“When we stayed up I could have gone to Aston Villa when David O’Leary was manager, I chose not to and stay at Leeds because we had another year in the Premier League.

“It’s his club, his town. Does he want to stay in the Premier League with them or move onto pastures new?”

The midfielder scored eight and assisted seven as Aston Villa secured Premier League survival by finishing 17th, one point above the drop zone.

Grealish has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, but Sky Sports are now reporting their interest in him has cooled.
