Kevin Phillips claimed that it is “a massive, massive boost” for Aston Villa to tie Jack Grealish down to a new long-term deal.
The former Claret and Blue, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, suggested that the agreement with the 25-year-old agreeing is Dean Smith’s best signing this summer.
Villa confirmed on Tuesday that the attacking midfielder had put pen to paper on a new five-year contract at his boyhood club.

It comes after a long summer of speculation linking him with a move away from the West Midlands after an impressive season in the Premier League.
Grealish‘s 41 appearances across all competitions in the 2019/20 campaign yielded 10 goals and eight assists.
Phillips was excited by the prospect of the recent England international lining up with Ollie Watkins, the pair already showing signs of promise in the 3-1 EFL Cup win at Burton Albion.
