Kevin Phillips has warned Aston Villa fans that Jack Grealish’s new deal does not stop him quitting the club in the near future.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former England international suggested the likes of Manchester United could make a move for the 25-year-old next summer and will not be put off by the player’s contract length.
The club confirmed on Tuesday that the attacking midfielder had put pen to paper on a new five-year agreement at Villa Park.

Grealish‘s 41 appearances across all competitions in the 2019/20 campaign yielded an impressive 10 goals and eight assists and attracted the attention of Manchester United and Everton, as revealed by Football Insider.
Phillips claimed that not even a 10-year contract could secure the player’s future at the club.
“We have seen it many times,” he told Football Insider. “If another club wants you, it does not matter how long you have signed for, they will still come and get you.
