Tete scores on his Leicester debut after Harry Souttar own goal in thrilling five-goal first half against Aston Villa

Two of Leicester City’s new signings had very different debuts as the Foxes beat Aston Villa 4-2 at Villa Park.

The Foxes signed Brazilian winger Tete on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk before acquiring Harry Souttar from Stoke on deadline day.

Both of the new arrivals were handed starts away at Villa, and they had very contrasting afternoons.

Following Ollie Watkins’ opener and James Maddison’s subsequent equaliser, the hosts found the lead once again in the 32nd minute.

Watkins hit an effort inside the box on the attack, which was deflected past Danny Ward off the leg of Souttar.

It would go down as an own goal for the defender, who was playing in the Premier League for the very first time.

However, inside the last five-minutes of the half, Kelechi Iheanacho netted Leicester’s second equaliser of the day.

And they weren’t done there as Tete then scored the fifth goal of the half as Leicester went into the break on top.

He was played through into the box by Iheanacho, and the 22-year-old went round Emiliano Martinez before slotting into an empty net.

It capped off a thrilling opening 45 minutes, with both sides clearly struggling in defence.

But after all the delights of the first period, the second only had one further goal.

Dennis Praet grabbed a netted a rare strike to make it 4-2, capitalising on an error from Villa new signing Alex Moreno.
