Top pundit makes big Villa transfer claim after Sky report

Michael Brown has claimed that Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish will “want to stay” at the club amid speculation linking him with a move away from Villa Park.

The former Tottenham and Leeds midfielder, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, claimed Grealish could be swayed to stay if Villa continue to improve.

The 24-year-old is in demand with several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, this summer according to Sky Sports.

But Brown believes there are a number of factors Grealish will consider before deciding whether to quit his boyhood club or not.

“He’ll want to stay,” Brown told Football Insider.

“He’ll see that the improvement is there and might decide to give it a bit longer.

“We’ll have to see, it all depends on can a deal be done? And who are the club that want to “take him? They are certainly the factors that will turn the deal one way or the other.”

Grealish still has three years remaining on his current deal at Villa and the Midlands giants have reportedly placed a mouth-watering £80million price-tag on the midfielder.

The Villains may have been forced to sell the midfielder had they been relegated from the Premier League, however his goal during their 1-1 draw with West Ham in July ensured top-flight status for another season.

Grealish scored eight goals and made a further seven for his hometown side last season, attracting interest from the likes of Manchester United.

However Sky Sports are now reporting the Red Devils’ interest in the Villa star has now cooled.
