Aston Villa are the odds on favourites to sign Youri Tielemans after Leicester confirmed his expired contract had not been renewed.

The Belgian’s time at the King Power Stadium has come to an end after four and half years with the club following the expiry of his contract, meaning he’ll be available on a free transfer.
The central midfielder signed from Monaco, initially on loan in January 2019, and made just shy of 200 appearances for the Foxes.
The 26-year-old etched his name in Leicester history by scoring a screamer in the FA Cup final against Chelsea in 2021, which turned out to be the winner to win the cup for the first time in the Foxes’ history.
Tielemans had long been linked with a move away from the club, rejecting several new contracts offered by the east Midlands side, and the club’s relegation to the Championship on the final day of the Premier League season proved to be the end for the midfielder.
Aston Villa, leader of the odds list, secured themselves a 7th place finish in the Premier League season that’s just finished, their highest finish since 2010, securing a place in next season’s Europa Conference League in the process.
European football coming back to Villa Park means that manager Unai Emery will have to strengthen his squad both in terms of quality and quantity in order to compete in both competitions.
Tielemans is still only 26 but is a very experienced player and would provide genuine quality to Aston Villa’s midfield, which has starred since Emery’s appointment at the club back in November.

Newcastle have also been linked with a move for the Belgian, with the Magpies also looking to improve and bolster their squad in preparation for European football.
Eddie Howe’s side upset the odds by finishing fourth in the Premier League table, securing themselves Champions League football at St James’ Park for the first time since 2003.
The Magpies’ midfield was impressive this season with Bruno Guimaraes at the base of it, but lacks depth and experience playing in Europe, which Tielemans would be able to provide.
There is also scope for the Belgian to leave the Premier League, and talkSPORT are offering 6/1 odds on a move to Italy, with both Juventus and Roma having been linked with him recently.
Arsenal and Liverpool are both locked at 8/1 to sign the central midfielder.
The Gunner led the Premier League for the majority of the season but came up short in their bid for a first league title since 2004, and are aiming to strengthen their midfield as they prepare for another shot at ousting Manchester City as champions.
Liverpool finished outside the top four for the first time since 2016, and their midfield looks set to have a major overhaul this summer with the departures of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Naby Keita, all players in Tielemans’ position.
A move to Germany for 26-year-old is also a possibility, priced at 10/1, while Arsenal’s north London rivals are 12/1 as they bid to get back into the European places next season.
Moves to France or Italy are both on the market at 16/1, while a move to newly promoted Burnley, managed by Tielemans’ former Belgium teammate Vincent Kompany is touted at 20/1.
