According to The Athletic, Young’s injuries are not considered life-threatening and a full recovery is expected.

A force spokesperson said: “Three people have been arrested after a 17-year-old was stabbed on Elmdon Park Road, Solihull, last night [Friday].

“Police were called at around 9.30pm and the victim was taken to hospital with injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

“A man aged 24 has been arrested on suspicion of wounding and drugs possession, while two others, a man and a woman, have been held on suspicion of wounding.”

The striker is considered one of the most talented youngsters on the books at Bodymoor Heath and, given he turns 18 in August, is hoping to make a push for the first-team imminently.
