Michael Brown insists that Scott Hogan “needs to improve” after he secured a permanent move from Aston Villa to Birmingham City.
The former Tottenham and Leeds United midfielder, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, admits he is curious to see how the Republic of Ireland international gets on with the Blues after his disappointing spell with the Villans.
Birmingham confirmed last week that the 28-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at St Andrew’s, had put pen to paper on a four-year deal to bring his time at Villa Park to an end.

Hogan struck nine times in 17 Championship games last season, although all of his goals came in an eight-game spell before the lockdown in March.
Brown insists that the former Brentford man has a big point to prove following his permanent switch and suggests he needs to get a decent run of games together to demonstrate his ability.
Brown told Football Insider: “It was a case of him not really scoring, not really playing enough games, obviously he’s now gone on to Birmingham and I think he needs to improve.
