NORWICH sold Emi Buendia to Aston Villa after he refused to play for the club again.
Carrow Road sporting director Stuart Webber has claimed he had no choice to sell the Argentine winger in a deal worth up to £38million after the Canaries secured promotion back to the Premier League.

Rock-bottom Norwich face Leeds on Sunday with no wins and they have scored just twice.
Both Arsenal and Villa bid for Buendia and although he moved to Villa Park, has since struggled to make a major impact for Dean Smith’s side.
Webber said: “I think Emi’s sale helped us do a lot of work we did in the summer and that was great and very welcome as much as we did not want to lose a good player.
“When someone tells you very clearly he will not be playing for the club again . . ‘see you later then mate, we don’t need you, thank you very much’.
“No-one is bigger than the football club.”

Norwich spent about £60million in the summer.
New arrivals included Greek winger Christos Tzolis from PAOK in a £11.4m deal and the £9.4m signing of midfielder Milot Rashica and £8m arrival of striker Josh Sargent, both from Werder Bremen.
All three have failed to make an impact and Norwich only have two points.
Webber also hopes the club’s fans will get behind their team against Leeds.
He added: “At times I believe as a football fan, you’ve got to recognise when your team needs a bit of help.”
