Noel Whelan has argued that Aston Villa will struggle to offload Anwar El Ghazi and Frederic Guilbert in the coming days.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Leeds United suggested that the best solution for the club could be to seek potential loan suitors for the pair.
As revealed by Football Insider, Villa are looking to ship out the duo in an effort to reduce their wage bill before the domestic transfer window shuts on October 16th.
But Whelan believes that facilitating their exits could be a lot easier said than done.
Asked if Villa are going to find it difficult to move the pair on, he told Football Insider: “They are indeed, absolutely.
“Guilbert’s not been there that long so his contract’s probably got a couple of years left on it.
